We rely on the generous support of individuals, trusts and foundations and corporates to keep John Hansard Gallery free for visitors. Your support ensures that we can continue our engagement and outreach work, making the very best in contemporary art accessible to all.
In 1979, John Henry Hansard made a generous donation to the University of Southampton to help realise its ambition of showing contemporary art at the University’s Highfield Campus. Since then John Hansard Gallery has grown in both size and ambition. In 2018 we moved to a purpose-built gallery in the heart of Southampton’s Cultural Quarter.
John Hansard Gallery is a place to experience great art that inspires people and communities to change the world for the better. We need your support to help us reach the widest possible audience and continue to create the best contemporary art. If you are a position to help, please know a gift of any size will make a difference.
