Join City Eye and John Hansard Gallery for International Women’s Day 2024.
Artists Pia Arke and Gayle Chong Kwan, whose work is currently on display at John Hansard Gallery in two new solo exhibitions investigate themes of nationhood, island communities and colonialism through a female lens.
Short films by Lise Autogena & Joshua Portway and Julie Edel Hardenberg are also on show, as part of a group film programme running alongside the Pia Arke exhibition.
John Hansard Gallery’s Senior Curator Ros Carter will lead a guided tour of the galleries, and Susan Beckett, Director of City Eye, will be on hand to discuss the importance of women’s film and media networks. There will also be opportunity for informal networking.
