FREE. Suitable for all aged 4 and over. Under 16’s must be accompanied at all times by an adult.

Inspired by Jala Wahid’s exhibition Conflagration, join artist Khawlah Alkhdar to explore the themes of masculinity, oil and industrialisation. Using recycled car parts, get messy with a collaborative sculpture!
Saturday 18 November
Join us at University of Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival for drop-in creative writing workshops, or pop along to the gallery for some text-based-fun! Decorate, elaborate or illustrate a single word to make your own masterpiece!

Create your own flower sculpture! Using Jala Wahid’s stunning creation in our Gallery 2 for reference, use clay to create your own version of a native flower. Jala’s sculpture is based on the Salvia Spinosa flower that grows in the Middle East – what flower will yours be inspired by?

Design your own Seagull! Follow the Seagull trail in Gallery 1 with Koestler Arts Standing on the Edge, then design your very own gull! What would your gull have on it to represent you?

Join us for our Family Fun Day! Explore the gallery with lots of activities, work alongside a local artist, or complete our sticker trails! Come along between 10:30am-12:30pm for creative activities inspired by our latest exhibitions!
Saturday 16 December
Create your own tiles inspired by Jala Wahid’s Metaphysical Reunification (2023) in Gallery 3! Use card, string and foil to create your own playing card tile with shapes, patterns and objects representing your own history!
