Join us every Saturday for sessions to draw, make and build together. Activities are inspired by our current exhibitions.

FREE. Suitable for all aged 4 and over. Under 16’s must be accompanied at all times by an adult.

Drop-in times: 11am to 1pm

Saturday 9 September

Alongside TUVAA, explore the ideas of mapping, place making and journeys. Interact with giant maps to place your home, ambition and history! Draw what reminds you of home on a sticker and place it on the map!

Join local artist Abeer Kayani for a Mela inspired workshop! Explore through mask making, symbol discovery & identity!

Inspired by Grace Lau’s portraits on the Mezzanine Gallery, create your own frame for a portrait! Come along and get a polaroid picture of yourself staged like Grace Lau’s portraits! How will you frame your portrait? How will you pose? Come and play, explore and discover! Look at collaging your portraits using colour acetate…

Alongside Sonia E Barrett’s digital experience Rush Me in the foyer. Design your own space and fill it with objects, cuttings, collages or drawings that remind you of a place you enjoy going to! Explore Sonia’s interactive VR experience in the foyer to get some inspiration!

Saturday 7 October

Inspired by Ayo Akingbade & Billie Zangewa, decorate a cape together! Pin or tie string, beads, thread, fabric and recycled materials to collectively make a decorative cape! What materials catch your eye? Can you make this cape stand out as much as Ifé’s dress in Faluyi?
