Calling artists and designers, particularly those of South Asian heritage!
Have your artwork displayed prominently on hoardings on East Street and Queensway in Southampton. The selected artwork will be featured alongside the Southampton Mela festival, in partnership with Art Asia.
John Hansard Gallery in partnership with GO! Southampton, Art Asia and the Southampton Mela festival are seeking Expressions of Interest from artists and designers, with a particular welcome to those of South Asian heritage.
- Up to three shortlisted artists will be invited to propose artworks for the hoardings on East Street and Queensway.
- One selected artist or group will be commissioned to create new artwork that will be displayed on the hoardings alongside the Southampton Mela festival.
- To be accepted, you must be currently living in Hampshire or the Isle of Wight.
- The commissioned artwork should celebrate South Asian culture and diversity.
Artist fees
- Up to 3 selected artists will receive £500 to develop proposed artworks.
- One selected artist or group will receive an additional £1,000 to develop the final artwork.
- Other production costs will be covered separately.
