Southampton Pride in partnership with GO! Southampton, John Hansard Gallery, City Eye are seeking expressions of interest from artists, designers, illustrators based in the UK for artworks raising awareness of HIV/AIDS.
Have your artwork shown on prominent exterior windows of John Hansard Gallery and City Eye in Southampton’s Cultural Quarter. The selected artwork will be on display on Above Bar Street facing Guildhall Square for one year.
- Six shortlisted artists will be invited to propose artworks for our exterior windows on Above Bar Street.
- One selected artist or group will be commissioned to create a new vinyl artwork that will be displayed from August 2025 to July 2026.
Artist Fees
- Six selected artists will receive £500 to develop proposed artworks.
- One selected artist or group will receive an additional £1,000 to develop the final artwork.
- Other production costs will be covered separately.
Selection panel
- Jonathan Blake, gay rights activist.
- Representatives from Southampton Pride, GO! Southampton, John Hansard Gallery, City Eye, Breakout Youth and other LGBTQIA+ organisations in Southampton.
- The final artwork will be selected through a public vote.
