The Future Curators Programme is a residency programme for Disabled curators founded and led by DASH in collaboration with seven cultural organisations across England.

The Future Curator will work collaboratively to develop and deliver the contemporary visual arts programme. Working with: Exhibitions departments; Engagement departments, and University partners.

John Hansard Gallery recognise that disabled people are too often under-represented or absent from gallery programming; typically, their work is not sought out by programmers, and they are rarely involved in programme selection in galleries and other arts organisations.

The purpose of the role is to support an emerging disabled, Deaf, neurodivergent curator to develop a range of skills and experiences in a real world, gallery context. You will join their programme team and will be supported in developing new on-site programmes across, and in other situations.

Other partners include, Arts Catalyst, Disability Arts Online, MAC Birmingham, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA), Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange, and Wysing Arts Centre.

Deadline for applications: Monday 1 December, 11.59pm.

If you have any questions about the application process, please email Jennifa Chowdhury on jennifa@jhg.art.
