What is the Ambassadors Programme:

JHG Ambassadors Programme is a chance for community to get involved in shaping John Hansard Gallery’s Engagement and Learning programme.

“we helped John Hansard Gallery go forward as a more inclusive and engaging place”

– Ambassador from Cohort 2

Who it is for:

Local people who are interested in playing an active role in their communities. The programme is about openness, creativity, and a keen interest to explore new ways of doing things. You might be leading on small do-it-yourself, local projects. You might be a volunteer or be working part-time with a small local charity or community group.

Your input is essential:

The programme is based on the values of co-ownership. Together you will shape and grow the Ambassadors Programme and work towards our Community Takeover exhibition in 2026. You can read more about Community Takeover 2024 here.

Level of commitment:

This is a voluntary role, and the group will meet regularly – either monthly or fortnightly depending on the needs of the group.

Access and inclusion:

All ages 18+ are welcome.

John Hansard Gallery is committed to overcoming barriers to inclusion. Childcare support, public transport and some access costs can be covered. If you have any access requirements, contact [email protected].

Other Information:

This event will be facilitated by Anna Carr. Anna is a theatre maker, singer, and sound artist exploring themes of voice, autobiography, and journeys. Her projects include song theatre shows and community collaborations.

If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, you will have the chance to pick up an information pack and application form on the day.

Food will be provided. If you have any dietary or access requirements, email [email protected].
