Join Bella Riza to discuss her film Evde, currently on show at John Hansard Gallery on our Digital Array.
Evde (Turkish for ‘home’) is a documentary exploring experiences of migration and how connections to culture and habitats for belonging are created through the production and distribution of food.
Bella Riza’s work moves between writing, photography and film to explore representations of memory, personal and collective histories and landscape, often in connection to ideas of belonging.
Join Bella from 5:30pm to watch Evde, followed by an Artist Talk at 6pm, where she will be in discussion with Dr Heidi Armbruster, Associate Professor in German and Social Anthropology at the University of Southampton.
Armbruster has a particular research interest in post-migration identities expressed through the lenses of biography, memory and collective history, recently conducting research on refugee solidarities in the UK and Germany.
