We look forward to welcoming you to John Hansard Gallery and continuing to make your visit safe and enjoyable.

All our visitors are asked to read and adhere to our Safety Policy, below, before visiting John Hansard Gallery. This policy will be reviewed and updated on occasion in line with government guidance and local conditions. Please check our website for our latest policy before your visit. Please reschedule your visit if you feel ill or are required to self-isolate.

Free ticketed timed slots
Book your free admission ticket in advance of your visit. We have set up timed entry to the gallery. For bookings on the day, please call us on 023 8059 2158 to check availability. If you cannot find your preferred date, please check at a later time. Time slots will be added regularly. Book tickets here.

Face coverings
Visitors are required to wear a face covering, unless medically exempt. All members of our team also wear face coverings.

Extra safety measures (one-way route and social distancing)
We are limiting the number of visitors to the gallery, and a one-way route has been introduced to keep you safe. You are encouraged to maintain social distancing from anyone not in your group during your visit. Children should be accompanied by an adult at all times. You will be encouraged to regularly wash your hands and use our additional hand-sanitising stations. The family toilet on the ground floor will be open for general visitors’ use, with increased cleaning regime.

We accept card or contactless payments in the Gallery to minimise touch points.

Accessible toilets are located on ground and first floor. Our lifts are reserved for users with accessibility issues. We ask everyone else to use the stairs for which there are social distancing measures in place.

NHS Test&Trace (details retained for 21 days from visit)
We will continue to ask every visitor over the age of 16 to provide their name and contact details or ‘check in’ using the NHS COVID-19 app. If they do not have the app, each visitor will be required to fill in an online form once on-site.

If you have any questions about our reopening measures, please email us at [email protected] or call 023 8059 2158.
