TOMORROW NIGHT! Join us from 6pm for the launch of our new Summer exhibitions 🚀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 Featuring: Alaa Abu Asad, Jumana Manna, Morgan Quaintance, Mykola Ridnyi, Kin Structures This summer, John Hansard Gallery presents a compelling exploration of artistic responses to our rapidly evolving global landscape. New World Order brings together diverse voices from across the UK and around the world, fostering solidarity in increasingly divisive times through the unique perspectives of artists with varied lived experiences. In an era characterised by geopolitical instability and shifting power dynamics, artists offer vital alternative perspectives on conflict and division. Through examinations of botany, community building, historical reflection, land rights, and domestic spaces, these exhibitions invite us to reimagine our relationship with the world around us. EVENT ALERT! 🚨 In Conversation with Morgan Quaintance Saturday 14 June, 2.30–3.30pm FREE, book via link in bio 🔗 Ahead of his exhibition launch this week, join artist Morgan Quaintance in conversation with sociologist Laura Harris and filmmaker Chiemi Shimada (@smdcem) as they discuss Quaintance’s major new film Available Light. Available Light features interviews with workers at the Edo Tokyo Open Air Architecture Museum in Japan, alongside conversations with renters in both Tokyo and London. These elements spark a thought-provoking dialogue between the museum’s preserved historical ideal of the domestic and the often-unsettling realities of temporary accommodation in modern cities. The conversation will explore how an artist and academic can work in 'parallel', the cultural significance of preservation and shifts that occur when the location of a building changes. Available Light was shot and produced as part of a collaboration with Anniversary Fellow and @uni_southampton’s Senior Research Fellow, Laura Harris. Morgan Quaintance's Available Light features as part of JHG's Summer Programme 2025, New World Order.
